Three Weeks & Counting

Judi
So.... after the dodgems onto bowling. Bowling is bowling and was good fun and I, of course, won in our group....and not because they let me just because it was 'My Day', but because I actually did win fair and square! During our bowling session Judi decided to splash out and put 20p into the sweet machine.... to her absolute horror only one jelly bean was dispensed!!! Lesley swung into action and took the said 'Jelly Bean' to the kiosk to explain Judi's predicament, only to be told that the sweet machines were not their responsibility and so unfortunately were unable to help. Les gave Judi the 'Jelly Bean' which she popped into her mouth. The jelly bean, in a state of 'half chewed', accidentally fell out of Judi's mouth and landed on the floor...causing much distress to Judi! She was unconsolable and was in mourning for quite some minutes!
All done in the arcade we headed back out to the embankment and stopped for a beer ... which went down a treat!
Next stop....the Rib Ride!

Let's Catch Up

The Hens
Well, it's now August and due to gruelling schedules and wedding appointments, work commitments, studying and, of course, trying to just keep on top of homelife, I am attempting to catch up with events past and bring the 'Countdown to the WarneyWhite Wedding' up to date. It would appear that my future husband and I are always at opposite ends....when I am at work Graham is on his days off, when he is back at work, I'm off.... passing ships in the night. We are both exhaused! Roll on the Big Day so we can sit back and enjoy....!
In the interim period, much has been happening, bridesmaids dresses bought, shoes bought, wedding dress, numerous fittings out the way....so glad, hotel costs paid for, cake paid for, entertainment paid for, honeymoon booked and half paid for, money in pocket = £zero.
Early July played host to My Hen Day.... Organised by the lovely Lesley Harris, from start to finish....thank you Lesley your organisational skills are envied, certainly by me at any rate.
The day started at Les' house for a champagne breakfast to be enjoyed by myself and my two daughters and eight friends, then off to the railway station ever so slightly tipsy.... this was at 10 o clock in morning! Fantastic start to the day.

Lesley

Arrival at Waterloo Station and then Mother Hen and her chicks all in a line follow her along the embankmment with the relentless scorching sun on our backs to the Amusement Arcade!! Well, all us little chicks came to a halt and stared at the arcade a litte bemused... but wow, we had an absolutely brilliant time, it really did take us all back to long ago, halsian days. Dodgems.....hilarious... we had so much fun, we had a few goes and my fellow Hens had huddled and clucked together and, got mean, yep the Hens had conspired to...... 'get Cazza'.

This is me just before the 'Hens onslaught' of 'Get Cazza'......nawty little Hens!
So....I'm off to bed now so will return to finish off the Hen Day Saga another time.....next up....bowling!

Saturday morning and I am up very late as I was pretty unwell yesterday and deserved a lay in. Trevor, my baby brother called approximately 5 minutes after I had risen, bleary eyed and definately looking like something the cat had just dragged in....! So glad he couldn't see how awful I looked!! That is Trevor in the picture playing at James Bond, 007, Licensed to Kill.... anything that got in his way by the looks of it!!

Trevor is the man to give his big sister away and I am so proud that he agreed to do the honour of an important role. Needless to say much of our telephone conversation centered on the impending 'Big Day'. I do miss Trevor and the family so not only am I looking forward to the 'Day' but seeing them again, as once they are back in Oz, it will be a while before any of us will be able to afford to travel the thousands of miles across the ocean for a family catch up.

Any suggestions received will be greatly appreciated. I would like to do something a little different to the normal hen nights. I will just add I am definately not interested in clubbing, feel I am a tad too old for that, come to think of it, so are most of my friends!!

In the middle of all the trials and tribulations of trying to sort out wedding plans, we have bathroom fitters at the house all week, and must confess they are doing a bloody good job and cannot wait for it to be finished so I can test drive, the new power shower, sink, bath and loo!! It does make you appreciate that the smallest room in the house is very very important!

On with the wedding blog. I have (again, thanks to Rozzie), almost got my wedding dress!! Can't wait to try it on. It is an amazing dress and perfect for little ol me. I really do not want to say too much about it as it should be a suprise for everyone, not just the Groom, so I will say no more about it!
It has been a busy week so not much time for 'blogging'. Warney, with the help of his best man and best man's wife (Rozzie), has his stag do pretty much sorted. Me, still have not got the foggiest clue as to where or what I want to do!! Any ideas girls?

Feeling a bit jaded today as late to bed the night before (2.30am) due to girlie night in......chatting about anything and everything, giggling and setting up the WarneyWhite Wedding blog, A good evening was had. Hence...work today was a bit of a challenge!

Margaret, my dear colleague, offered the services of her husband (hereinafter called Stephen), to help with setting up, designing and printing off our invitations. During the 'setting up' this evening after work I was kept amused by Stephen's razor sharp wit (much like his wife) and his 'Pete's Pockets' knowledge of pretty much everything from the meaning of Addlestone, New Haw and, would you believe, the origins and circa of the fonts we browsed through before settling on the 'Black Adder' design for the afore-mentioned invitations.

Finally, after some tweaking of font sizes, to use 'bold' or, not to use 'bold', the finished article came into fruition. Voila....perfect! Margaret and I now suitably impressed and in awe of the Genius called 'Stephen'...... a big thank you! Sorry.....a big THANK YOU!

Introduction to Carole & Warney

This is the first blog and this is the big countdown to the WarneyWhite Wedding.
  • Venues - booked
  • Flowers - sorted
  • Invitations - in progress
  • Car - over to Lesley - arranged hopefully!
  • Cake - arranged

Let's start at the very beginning, it's a very good place to start....

THE BEGINNING

We met when I was 8 and he was 17 and I was nothing but his little sister's best mate. So it goes without saying he ignored me and I ignored him. In fact, I didn't like him much. He on many occasions would throw me out of the house (he thought it funny, I didn't much!).
